Miriam Vergara is an Textile Artist and Educator born in Brooklyn, New York.
They are a first generation Mexican-American.
They are interested in learning the traditional textile techniques of around the world.
In their practice Miriam addresses topics such as intimacy, mental health and memories. They use their personal narrative and leadership skills to connect with people through workshops, storytelling and nature walks. Even though many of these unions are done privately, they create artwork that pays homage to people and communities they’ve met throughout their lifetime.
